About Reagen Holt
Reagen Holt is a practicing visual artist with over 15 years experience teaching visual arts and creative writing to young children in schools, libraries, summer camps, and private settings. She believes that creative expression builds confidence, communication, and problem solving. Holt teaches that math, science, and the arts go hand-in-hand. Her programs are specific to curriculum guidelines and she specializes in combining hands-on tactile fun that develops motor skills with lessons that introduce contemporary and historical artists/art movements. Reagen Holt strives to bring the joy of learning/discovery/ art-making into the classroom. She can often be found telling imaginative stories, wearing costumes, singing, or dancing in the classroom. She incorporates phonics, counting, and geography into her teaching wherever possible. She finds teaching to be extremely rewarding. Holt teaches art at all levels including children, continuing education, and college. Reagen Holt spent several years as a collaborative artist, consultant and community-based gallery owner in her upstate New York hometown. Her community projects have received two NYSCA Decentralized Grants. She has also been the recipient a NYSCA Individual Artist Grant and a NYFA Poet and Writers Society Grant. Holt received her BFA with a concentration in Printmaking from Montserrat College of Art in 2012 and her MFA in Studio Art from the University of Connecticut in 2014. She currently works at the University of Hartford and CT Community Colleges. She has been a Hartford Performs Provider since February 2015.
