Grumbling Gryphons

About Grumbling Gryphons

Grumbling Gryphons Traveling Children's Theater, founded in 1980 (winner of the 2003 Connecticut Governor’s Arts Award) celebrates 39 years of bringing quality performances and educational workshops to audiences throughout the world. Artistic Director- Leslie Elias, 2018 Connecticut Arts Hero and 2018 Northwest Connecticut Arts Council winner of the Culture Max Award Arts Educator Award and her theater company perform environmental and multicultural shows for children of all ages. The company performs in schools, theaters, libraries, museums and festivals throughout the U.S and abroad. Grumbling Gryphons is well known for engaging children in a highly participatory drama experience, with live music, marvelous masks, and imaginative content. To enhance our participatory approach, we can provide pre-performance workshops in schools. In advance of our visit, schools may choose the option of students making masks with their art or classroom teachers and utilize them on the day of the performance. Each school is unique and different, so we like to take the time to speak to your representative to custom design a program/schedule that works best for you!
