On a Wing & a Song is designed for Grade 1 and aligns with Wit & Wisdom Module 2. Also Grade 2 and aligns with Wit & Wisdom Module 1, A Season of Change. A bird's eye view of the cycle of seasons with finger plays, simple sign language, poems, puppets, and lots of sing-alongs / move-alongs. Includes NEST BUILDING, EGG LAYING, INCUBATION, HATCHING, FEEDING, LEARNING TO FLY, MIGRATION. I include short bits about creatures other than birds which can fly, such as winged insects and mammals (e.g. butterflies and bats). Students are participating throughout the entire program.

Student will watch songs which teach how birds build nests, lay eggs, feed their young, learn how to fly and migrate. Students will sing-along and move-along with the songs in the show. Students will learn about animals other than birds which can fly (insects, bats) by participating throughout the show. Students will learn and remember many fun finger plays and songs!
