Library Boogie Assembly is an interactive musical puppet show that brings an entire school together to celebrate books, stories, music, and imagination.
Students sing, dance with colorful scarves, play shaker eggs, and become part of classic folktales alongside Tom's handmade puppet friends. Original songs - including The Library Boogie and the bilingual movement song Alligator Jump / ¡Salta Caimán! - invite every student to participate, creating a joyful experience for audiences from preschool through fifth grade.
Designed for mixed-age audiences, the performance combines music, puppetry, storytelling, and audience participation to engage younger students while offering older students opportunities to predict, solve problems, and reflect on the stories. The program promotes literacy, creativity, and a lifelong enthusiasm for reading in a way that students and teachers continue talking about long after the performance ends.
Learning outcomes include:
Encouraging enthusiasm for reading and libraries
Strengthening listening and communication skills
Introducing classic folktales through music and storytelling
Creating a shared school-wide experience through active participation
Every performance is joyful, inclusive, and designed to build meaningful connections between books, music, and imagination.
