Poetry Alive with Leslie Johnson actively involves students in writing original poetry and performing it in the classroom with "poetry theater" techniques. Poetry Alive workshops are accessible to all student-writers, designed with the multiple-intelligences to engage participants with diverse learning styles. Each session includes an interactive warm-up, creation of original poetry, and lively poetry performance in the classroom. Leslie’s arts-infused poetry workshops may include music, drama, movement, visual art, or nature to inspire your student-writers. This inclusive, hands-on experience builds literacy skills while encouraging self-expression and confidence in communication.
If desired, teachers may select Poetry Alive workshops from a menu of choices that Leslie will provide or request specific topics or themes to connect with their curriculum.
