About Rebecca Thomas

Rebecca Thomas has been described as “awesomely fiery” (NYTimes), “masterful” (Eva YaaAsentawaa), and “a postcard image of the feminine Flamenco dancer” (Kansas City Metropolis). She is artistic director of A Palo Seco Flamenco Company, which she founded after years of dancing with renowned Flamenco companies, and whose productions have been proclaimed “a feast for the eyes and the ears” (Theatre Online). For her artistic work, she has received support from Arts Westchester, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Jerome Foundation, Connecticut Office of the Arts, and was a she was a 2013 NYFA fellow in choreography. In addition to performance and choreography, Rebecca is a seasoned Arts Education instructor and performer. She has been presenting her work at schools throughout the U.S. for over 15 years, engaging students of all ages in lively and interactive programs that bring the art of Flamenco alive in the classroom.
