This program will teach social and emotional skills through dance/creative movement. The workshop will begin with reading and discussing a children’s book about expressing emotions followed by a dance class that incorporates this topic. The book we will read is titled The Boy with Big, Big Feelings By Britney Winn Lee. The dance class will teach students how to use dance as an outlet to express their emotions in a healthy way and will give students the opportunity to act out different emotions through their dancing. Students will dance to a variety of music and use fun, creative props such as scarves and instruments!

Any. We need an open-space for the kids to dance. This could be a classroom if there is an open space (desks/tables can be moved out of the way to create more space) or in a gymnasium/assembly room. |
