This music workshop aligns with Kindergarten Module 1: The Five Senses. Music & Math gives students the opportunity to experience how music and math are closely related. Using drums and percussion instruments, students play multicultural rhythm games with musical counting and counting in sequence, forming geometric shapes with the group which form different poly-rhythms and solve addition and subtraction problems in mid song. The math problems would change based on what the students understanding of math is at their grade level and the time of school year. K-1st graders will get simple math challenges and simplified songs to connect with their level of understanding while 2nd graders would get more challenging math problems and more complex songs to play.
