Inspired by the book ‘Why Not?’ by Kobi Yamada, the Moving Matters! program is designed to enhance and expand the student's academic, social, emotional, personal and artistic growth through movement, song making and/or the visual arts. The four contact hours begin with reading and discussing the themes in the chosen book while generating ideas for arts explorations. During each class session the students will work as a whole class and in smaller groups further creating through the arts. The final session will offer the option of refining their work for a sharing with other participating classrooms or completing explorations within their own classroom.
