We journey through various environments from ponds to meadows to show different forms of life cycles and metamorphosis, including tadpole to frog and caterpillar to butterfly in this uplifting and relaxing performance about some amazing natural transformations in our world. Performing Artist Adelka Polak with music by Cynthia Quintanal take the audience on a journey through the seasons with an exciting soundscape to bring the natural transformations to life! Sova Dance & Puppet Theater engages the audience to consider how we fit into and affect the natural world. This performance is highly interactive and uplifting while the musical soundtrack which one at times can sing and dance to also has a calming effect on our nervous systems overall. This is a larger than life interactive treat for all while seeing the transformations happen before your own eyes! Note: This performance is also so excellent for special education students with the use of few words and large scale visuals often with high contrast colors.

Depending on scheduling and time availability the length can be flexible as we tend to spend 10 minutes in the introduction & possibly 5 minutes more if students need had been sitting in their class beforehand and then the show is 35 minutes with sometimes time for a 5-10 minute Q & A about the puppets and music. This can be a full hour experience from arrival to departure, if the schedule allows. Otherwise, we are flexible to shorten as needed.

Provide a stage/open space unless the classes are special needs or medically diverse, then please share with us what the classroom needs. We prefer an elevated stage; an open space like a gymnasium or common room, but we have done this outside as well as long as we have access to a working electrical outlet and weather permitted as the puppets are not workable in the rain. Note: We have a large load in for this big scale show, so please consider this when selecting a location and space. We need 75 minutes to set up and less than 1 hour to break down.

Theatre, auditorium, gymnasium, outdoor amphitheater where the students cannot see backstage. [Open Space at least 15' wide x 15' deep.] Seating for children, teachers, parents, etc. in space beyond the stage. Note: We have modified the show to fit into special needs and medically diverse classrooms when it is too difficult to move the students to the auditorium and we just need to know in advance. 6 weeks notice regarding this information is helpful when we are scheduling performers.

Students will be able to observe the various life stages of frogs and butterflies through metamorphosis of various kinds depicted through the puppets shared. Students will be able to choose whether or not to engage with the puppets by pretending to feed them or dance with the performers to teach the "growing" puppets something new or physicalize the life cycle. Students will feel the effects of art in our world through puppetry, dance, and music as shared by their physical and vocal reactions to the material that is primarily performed without many words.
