Grade 4 Module 1- A Great Heart
Grade 5 Module 4 Breaking barriers

This is an interactive creative class, and a mindful exploration
where Teachers/Students learn about the best ways to communicate with each other, and situations.

We will use props like feathers and work together to explore self-awareness, communication and problem-solving, learning to respond thoughtfully instead of reacting, and breaking down barriers, opening new doors!.

Through playful team based exercises, and role playing, we will learn to express ourselves artfully, take a line for a walk using Paul Klee's art, and heartfully listen carefully and interact with each other, noticing new behaviors that enhance our ability to connect with each other. We will explore the power of a great heart, how to use it well, and in so doing create art that reflects our feelings and ideas. These activities are a springboard for generating new consciousness for both children and teachers.

Drawing from Asian Mindfulness principles of Tai chi, we blend art and science concepts, for example, time-space ideas, and concepts around layered thinking ideas for instance tough and tender, and translate these into movement and simulations.

This program engages students and teachers on many levels. An important takeaway is remembering how to respond, not react building good heart skillsets and changing habits that are not working to new patterns of communicating that will.

Through movement art and mindfulness, students and teachers will uncover the amazing communicator and creator within them!
