The tour of the historic and beautiful Mark Twain House takes 45 minutes. However, the more students that visit, the longer a school needs to be on-site to ensure that everyone sees the house. For large groups, we can add a number of complementary educational programs, as well as time in our galleries, exhibitions, and time for watching a documentary. While each tour will always be 45 minutes, the overall length of a field trip will vary based on the number of students.

All students experience a facilitated tour of the historic and beautiful Mark Twain House. During the tour, a museum educator asks them questions designed to guide them in interpreting the space. Students will have a hands-on component during the tours and explore activities of the 19th century Clemens' household.
We have a significant opportunity for caregiver volunteers serving as chaperones. We request at least one adult for every 13 students, which usually requires that a school provides chaperones.
