An open space in a classroom is ideal, or space in a gym, cafeteria, or other larger room is also good. Students typically sit side by side on the floor facing the puppet table.
I CAN move my body in different ways to mimic how different insects move.
I CAN say what at least one insect does to help plants grow.
I CAN embody and remember the life cycle stages of a monarch butterfly.
I CAN give at least one reason why it isn't a good idea to smush bugs.
Some people think creepy crawlies are just plain gross. But if you look closely, each bug in the garden has a song to sing about the special job it does to help plants grow. Learn more about insects and why it's important to keep them alive. The entire show is crafted with multiple learning styles in mind to keep children engaged as they learn, with opportunities for the audience to sing, dance, and even act out the life cycle of a butterfly! High quality moving mouth puppets and catchy original songs in a variety of exciting styles, from funk to Latin, round out this multi-faceted experience of the performing arts.
