The aloha spirit encourages students to create a cohesive, compassionate, safe school environment for themselves and for others. Students participate in a variety of exercises based in yoga, breath, and hula movements that introduce and reinforce concepts based on Hawaiian values. Those include: Empathy-Building with Aloha (love, affection, compassion, peace). Creating An Inclusive Environment: Ohana (family). Welcoming & Accepting All Others: E Komo Mai (welcome). Making Good Decisions & Evaluating Own Behavior: Pono (goodness, morality). Intentionally Helping Others: Kokua (help). Expressing Gratitude For Things In Our Lives: Mahalo (thank you). Basic Principles Of Responsibility: Kuleana (responsibility).

Assistance with unloading and re-loading of equipment; re-arranging desks, chairs, furniture (if necessary), help hand out supplies, participate in program, assist with any behavioral issues (if necessary); No limit to caregivers

Grade 6: Health: Standard 1: Students will comprehend concepts related to health promotion and disease prevention to enhance health. 1.8.5: Describe ways to reduce or prevent injuries and other adolescent health problems.
Grade 6: Physical Education: Standard 4: The physically literate individual exhibits responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others. S4.M2.6: Identifies and uses appropriate strategies to self-reinforce positive fitness behaviors, such as positive self-talk.
Grade 6: Dance: Performing: Anchor Standard 5: Develop and refine artistic techniques and work for presentation. A. Embody technical dance skills (for example, alignment, coordination, balance, core support, kinesthetic awareness, clarity of movement) to accurately execute changes of direction, levels, facings, pathways, elevations and landings, extensions of limbs, and movement transitions.

Grade 7

Grade 7: Physical Education: Standard 3: The physically literate individual demonstrates the knowledge and skills to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical activity and fitness. Apply body-use strategies to accommodate physical maturational development to technical dance skills (for example, functional alignment, coordination, balance, core support, kinesthetic awareness, clarity of movement, weight shifts, flexibility/range of motion).

Grade 8

Grade 8: Health: Standard 2 - The physically literate individual applies knowledge of concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics related to movement and performance.
Grade 8: Dance. Performing. Anchor Standard 5: Develop and refine artistic techniques and work for presentation. B.Evaluate personal healthful practices in dance activities and everyday life including nutrition and injury prevention. Discuss choices made, the effects experienced, and methods for improvement.
