Large Space- preferably a room where we are not fully disturbing other classrooms. This class can get very loud. (gym, cafeteria, Large stage or a big open room) and outlets for plug-ins.
I CAN identify different rhythmic patterns.
I CAN confidently move in and out of moves with faltering.
I CAN see how moving for an hour improved my stamina and endurance.
I CAN improve my coordination by listening and focusing.
Hip Hop Aerobics is geared to improving hand eye coordination, identification of rhythmic patterns, building stamina and a strong understand of musicality. This is a fitness class that will also help scholars start or improve their skills as a dancer.

We will begin with a simple introduction to the class and reviewing the different genres of dance that led to the creation of Hip Hop Aerobics. I will leave the floor open for conversation between the scholars and myself, and also give them an opportunity to ask questions.

I will then have to see where each artists skill is at by taking them through some warm ups and seeing how they do with different beginner/intermediate and advance combinations.

We will do a short stretch, and a mild workout, along with a 10 min "follow the leader" section. This is the ONLY day we will be introducing ourselves more then dancing/working out.

The next class, there will be a small review of the previous class, but quickly switching gears and going straight into Hip Hop Aerobics/Power Hour.

Depending on the grade level the moves are simpler or more complex.
Volunteers and adults are welcome to come in but must participate if they are present.
