Scot Cannon

About Scot Cannon

I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 1975 with a degree in music education. I taught music at South Jr. High in Brockton, MA for 12 years. During this time I also studied drama with the Lyric Stage of Boston and Mime with Kenyon Martin of Boston, Tony Montanaro of Maine and master classes with Marcel Marceau. While I was teaching with my wife Paula at South we became foster & adoptive parents for several at risk students. In 1987 I left teaching to develop a series of character education programs based on the issues facing the kids we worked with and the ones that came home with us. I have been touring for the past 25 years with these programs. In the past 5 years I have been doing songwriting residencies with schools and I host a radio show called the WERU Family Radio Hour that features young talent from the state of Maine. My goals are to engage and inspire children to make the right choices, be accountable for their actions and help those that are lost and need a friend.
