Sea Magic: (The Ghost Net): An Environmental Musical of the Sea was developed in cooperation with environmentalists dedicated to protecting marine wildlife and has received rave reviews worldwide since it"s premiere in 1990. Humor and music abound in this timeless story of a brave young girl"s fantastic voyage into the sea where she befriends sea animals, encounters manmade hazards and helps the creatures battle the perils of pollution. Plunge into oceans of fun and fantasy, where you"ll meet mermaids, dolphins, sea stars, giant squids and dangerous drift nets. Prior to the show, each actor will conduct pre-performance theater/ science workshops with the individual classes oriented differently for each grade level, who will then participate in the show. Mask patterns will be provided in advance for art or classroom teachers to guide students in making their own mask and/or prop. (mask component is optional)This original play addresses the need for recycling and nature conservancy. The effects of Global warming is addressed as well. By learning & acting together, we believe that together we can help this planet to become greener and make a difference!
