I can tell you what is needed for a plant to grow, and describe its growth cycle. I can tell you how the following things help in gardening: worms, bees, ladybugs, spiders, compost, thinning, weeding. I can appreciate some differences between food that comes fresh from the garden, and that which comes from the store. I can appreciate better what goes into growing vegetables and be open to growing them myself.
All ages are invited to laugh and learn as we get down and earthy, celebrating the joys of gardening in interactive song, comedy, and story. Animal helpers / puppets include: worm, ladybug, spider, bee. The program will not only engage and delight students, but give them a fertile foundation of plant science and gardening know-how. A lot of ground is covered, learning about: germination, photosynthesis, pollination, seed saving, composting, soil science, nutrition and more...
Any number of caregivers are welcome to observe.
