In Comics + Collage = Connections students are engaged with collage materials while they are challenged to go outside their comfort zones to make creative new connections and communicate their ideas in language. Students will creatively combine, design, and organize words and images to express themselves to the classroom audience. This fun and engaging program uses the multiple intelligences to teach visual art standards while building literacy skills through exploration and discovery. Content, techniques and vocabulary are adjusted and stepped up for grade level complexity. This workshop can be adjusted to address specific areas of concern, for examples a topic such as bullying, or a literacy concerns such as point-of-view, transition, sequencing.

The artist needs a table for artists' supplies and demonstrations. Students at tables or desks grouped in 4-6 students so they can share collage materials. |
