About CT Museum of Culture and History [Civics]

The Connecticut Museum of Culture and History is the state's premier historical society and cultural institution. The Connecticut Museum collection, programs, and exhibitions help Connecticut residents connect with each other, have conversations that shape our communities, and make informed decisions based on our past. Our engaging and hands-on school programs highlight objects from our collection, bringing history, geography, and civics to life for students. These programs have been designed to meet the goals and objectives of the 2023 Connecticut Elementary and Secondary Social Studies Standards and the Common Core State Standards. Students will develop skills in close observation of sources, evidential reasoning, understanding points of view, and critical thinking.
