About John Porcino Storyteller/Musician
Throughout my 35 full-time years as an arts-educator I have worked to help young people take on learning and life challenges with gusto. Together we explore how to make healthy/kind/spirited choices to care for the earth and each other. My teaching style is clear, playful and participatory aimed at engaging both the hearts and minds of the many of students I have been lucky enough to work with. The world asks of us only to “leave the campsite better than we found it†and one of the best ways I know how to do that is to be one of the choir of fine educators who help children grow into happy, wise, insightful adults. Along with thousands of performance, workshops, and school residencies, "from California to the NY Island", my publications include co-editor of the award-winning book “Spinning Tales: Weaving Hope†several feature article for “Family Fun†magazine, the recording “A Heck of a Way to Stay Warmâ€, and contributions to the storytelling books “The Healing Heart†& “Joining Inâ€.
