I CAN identify grade level-appropriate musical concepts and vocabulary illustrated throughout the concert. I CAN listen critically and comment on what I am hearing in the music. I CAN participate actively by responding to the music with my body through gesture, clapping, and/or dance. I CAN understand and experience music in relation to its historical and cultural context.
There is no better way to introduce students to a symphony orchestra than Cirque at the Symphony, a orchestra concert performed by the HSO, set to astonishing feats by members of the renowned Cirque de la Symphonie. Watch these amazing aerialists, contortionists, and gymnasts tumble, soar and dance on and above the stage while accompanied by the HSO. The program also features a special guest appearance by HSO's 2023 Young Artists Competition winner, Aliza Creel.
