Teachers will receive a Teacher Discovery Pass, a one-time free pass to explore the museum to prepare for their students" upcoming tour and plan curricular connections.

Free busing is provided by the museum on a first-come, first-served basis.

Program Themes (choose one): Animals in Art
Grades Pre-K-2 Students discover animal imagery in works of art from around the world and create their own animal art using modeling clay. Color My Worlds Grades Pre-K-2
Students explore the elements of art in the galleries; the exploration continues in our studio where students create their own garden collage using a variety of colors, shapes, and textures. Be the Curator
Grades 3-5 Students explore landscapes, portraits, and still life paintings in the galleries and try their hand at curating their own museum "wall." Making Myths
Grades 3-5 Students view works depicting myths from ancient Greece, Rome, and Asia and illustrate their own myth on a two-dimensional vase.
Maximum number is 50 students for most programs. Making Myths (printmaking) program has a maximum of 40 students. Teachers with larger groups will need to split grade over two days for larger groups. Note that for larger groups some students will experience the art-making activity before the tour.

Note: Space is limited for this program. You are not guaranteed a slot until you have completed registration with the museum.
The Wadsworth Atheneum encourages parent participation and seeks opportunities for parents to act as chaperones during tours at the museum. Chaperones accompany students in the galleries while monitoring the behavior of students and must remain with students at all times. There is no additional cost for chaperones. Chaperone guidelines are provided by the museum upon booking. School must bring sufficient chaperones on the field trip to ensure 1 chaperone per touring group.

Grade PK
