5-gallon buckets with two mallets; Caribbean-style hand drums. A play-along CD recording and a handout with "BB's Caribbean-style Rhythms" are given to teachers as tools to lead on-going bucket and hand-drumming activities.
Armless chairs for all participants.
Can be presented in any available space. Chairs arrangement is flexible. Minimum of 45 minutes for load-in and setup; Minimum of 35 minutes for re-packing and load-out; Armless chairs for the participants.
I CAN play great beats on bucket drums and hand drums; I CAN play drums along with my favorite songs; I CAN play music during school, and during out-of-school time with family, caregivers, friends, and the community.
Every student plays 5-gallon bucket drums and Caribbean-style hand drums. Together, they launch Latin, Western, and African songs with high-energy rhythm patterns and contagious beats. Students experience the values of self-regulation, collaboration, empathy, and hard work. They"re inspired to play music with their families, caregivers, friends, and community.
