Wherever students sit for circle time is fine. A rug is the best.
I can hear sound when something is vibrating. I can tell that sound travels through air, water and solids. I can sort percussion instruments according to their attributes. I can conduct my peers to play percussion instruments in an ensemble.
Students learn that sound is caused by vibrations in the air, water and ground through an easily learned song. They will sort instruments according to their sounds and physical attributes. They will create a sound ensemble and share in conducting the sounds made. K- Conductors will start and stop the sounds made
1- Conductors will also explore loud and soft sounds and steady beats.
2- Conductors will divide the performers according to their instrument families, indicating when each family plays. Rhythms will also be added.
One or two are OK but not necessary. One-on-one aides are of course welcome to participate and to help their charges more easily participate.
