Program Learning Objective: I can be mindful and illustrate what is happening in the present. I can explain and illustrate the present moment using line and color. Students will write two sentences to describe their composition and what mood they felt at the present moment.
Program Description (Grade Level Program): Students will be introduced to mindfulness through the children"s book, "Here and Now," by Julia Denos and Illustrated by, E.B. Goodale. The students will understand the way in which focusing on the present moment can create calmness and celebrate the world around us. Students will fill in a chart of the PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE. Students will think of one present moment that they will illustrate using pencil and marker. Students will create a composition with the use of color to express a mood. The program will differ across grade levels by the detail and expressive qualities of line and color.

All lessons will be adjusted based on grade level.
Caregivers can help with the distribution of materials and brainstorming with each student.
