A Pre-Show Study Guide is available by Dallas Children's Theater on The Bushnell's website, www.bushnell.org. The study guide is filled with excellent information and activities to do with your students before and after the performance.
The school is responsible for ordering and paying for bus transportation. Also, when placing your ticket order, please indicate if any of the students have special needs (hearing impairment, wheelchair, etc.). Please also read the book "Diary of a Worm, a Spider, and a Fly" by Doreen Cronin and use the Pre-Show Study Guide to prepare for the performance.
I can read a book and watch a performance and compare the differences between the two. I can learn about bugs through music and theater.
Presented by the Dallas Children's Theater, "Diary of a Worm, a Spider, and a Fly" is a comical musical exploration of the world outside. The coolest ever rock-n-roll romp in a bug's world, capturing all the droll humor and whimsy of the wildly popular book. Insects rule in the diaries of unlikely best friends: Worm, Spider and Fly. Worm eats his homework, Fly believes she has superpowers, and Spider can't wait to grow up and molt. Promoting eco-consciousness, earth science and tolerance of others, you might just find that a bug's life is not all that different from your own!
There will be 250 tickets available for each performance of this show. Teachers must provide an exact count when ordering the number of tickets needed for all students, teachers, and chaperones.
