Fiesta del Norte

About Fiesta del Norte

Fiesta del Norte is a vibrant, interactive Mexican Mariachi band performing folk and popular music of Mexico. Dressed in the traditional Mexican 'charro' outfits with sombreros, we present songs and dances from many of the geographical regions of Mexico where each has its own unique melodies, rhythms and instrumentation. A 25 year member of the CT Office of the Arts, Fiesta Del Norte has educated and entertained children and adults on the culture, geography, and history of Mexico at schools, libraries, museums, festivals, fairs, and First Nights throughout Connecticut and New England. The band has scored and recorded the music to an educational video for Scholastic Publishing about the Mexican Day of the Dead, narrated by Rita Moreno, A feature of a Fiesta Del Norte performance is the wonderful audience participation with singing, dancing, hand-clapping and the joyful calls or 'gritos' heard on every song. So put on your sombreros and celebrate Mexico with Fiesta del Norte.
